Designed With Care
This week sees a week-long investigation by CABE into the relationships between health and the built environment. CABE is the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and is concerned with improving peoples quality of life through the built environment they live and work in. You can check out their blog here. One of CABE's concerns is to foreground the way in which good design can improve local healthcare facilities. Their belief is that "By going beyond simply providing a place for the delivery of nursing and medical care, these buildings create a human, inclusive and reassuring environment - just when people need it most." A series of day-long seminars will take place from next month with one at St Bartholemew's Breast Care Centre on 19th October.
